Trane Warranty Registration

Follow the instructions below to register your warranty.

Phase 1: Gather Your Information

You must complete the registration in one sitting, so have the following details ready:

  • Serial Numbers: Located on the metal nameplate of each unit (outdoor condenser, indoor furnace/air handler, and cased coil).
  • Model Numbers: Also found on the unit nameplates.
  • Installation Date: Found on your contractor’s invoice.
  • Dealer Information: The name and contact info of the company that installed the system.
  • Personal Info: Your name, address, and email.

Phase 2: Online Registration Steps

  1. Visit the Official Portal: Go to the Trane Warranty and Registration page.
  2. Agree to Terms: Read and accept the privacy policy and terms of use to begin.
  3. Enter Homeowner Information: Provide your contact details and address where the equipment is installed.
  4. Enter Equipment Details:
    1. Input the Serial Number of the first component.
    2. Note: For ductless systems, you may need to enter the serial number followed by a hyphen and the model number (e.g. 1234567-MSZ-GE25)
  5.  Add Multiple Products: Most systems have at least two or three components (e.g., an AC unit and a furnace). Click “Add Another Product” to include all serial numbers under the same registration.
  6. Provide Dealer Details: Enter the name of the Trane dealer who performed the installation.
  7. Review and Submit: Double-check all serial numbers for typos, then click Submit.

Phase 3: Confirmation

Email Receipt: You should receive a confirmation email immediately.

Download Certificate: After submitting, you will be given the option to download a PDF of your Warranty Certificate. Save this for your records; you may need it if you ever sell your home (as the registered warranty is often transferable for a fee).

Helpful Tips and Troubleshooting.

  • The 60-Day Clock: If you miss the 60-day window, your system defaults to the Base Warranty (usually 5 years). In some states (like Florida or California), this 60-day requirement may not apply due to local laws, but it is best practice to register regardless.
  • Dealer Registration: Many dealers register equipment for their customers. Check your paperwork or call your dealer to see if they’ve already done it for you.
  • Phone Registration: If the website is giving you trouble, you can register by calling Trane Warranty Specialists at 1-855-260-2975 (Mon-Fri, 8 AM – 6 PM ET).
